Whack-A-Mole and Walking Willie

The fake captain changes blogging id's like a whack a mole. The quick and dirty way to tell the difference is that my blogger id ends with 2259. It would take him 10,000 tries to match that code. Although since he doesn't have a job he might have time to do it!
I have to concede this cabin troll has been effectively shut my site down and has made blogging more of a chore instead of a fun way to interact with my fellow weigh loss winners. Less and less normal people post here anymore. A big final fifty thank you for those who have stuck it out.However, I may be shutting the entire site down in a few weeks. Maybe over40andlivingathome beat me? Who would think that this would be the villain that took the captain and his site down? On a postive note I have been a walking willie and have kept up the 5 miles a day. C-YA on the flipside.

The Captain slammed on the brakes to avoid crashing into skid row. Being roughed up by the villains is not my idea of fun. Chips and Salsa will become a banned food and this weeks real life rogues. Back to the drawing boards.

Geeked out at comic-con and updated weight

The Captain went to Comic-Con in San Diego last week. It was a real past meets the future blast. I never thought the event for us nerds could be this huge. Movie premires,video games,expo's for current artist and writers,the old timers, and free comics everywhere. It was a regular geek-o-rama. I am still reading all the comics I bought, and catching up with the Marvel Ultimate universe. "What if" all of us weight loss bloggers traded places with the Avengers. Would it be easier for us to drop weight if we had superpowers? Would Steve Rogers,Tony Stark, and Peter Parker pack on the pounds if they "walked" in our shoes?
Well, I will post my weight tommorrow. Hopefully, I dropped a pound. Sometimes after a big loss I get either a get a goose egg or a paltry loss. Either way there is no stopping this cyborg. Hasta la Vista Villains. Same Bat Time, Same Bat Channel.

221.2 Eleven more pounds to go and return of the fake captain

I watched the original Ocean's 11 before I watched the original. They were both great movies, but I would vote for the Frank Sinatra Sammy Davis as clearly being the best. Sometimes in weight loss looking back to a time when a person was successful can be motivating.
It was a great week this week. The weeks you are on top really get you through those goose egg and backward weeks. After I hit 210, which is my final fifty goal, I am going to set a new marker of 199 by Sept. 25th. I feel my 39th birthday is a perfec date to start my new journey. I desire to not only be a person with a bmi of 24.9, but to evolve into a fit over forty individual who is always in the top 5 percent of the nation. Staying focussed is the key to opening this exciting door of a challenging new life.

Villain Voice: Issue 6

Barry Bonds hit 753 a few days ago. He now needs 3 more to go to break the great Hank Aaron's record. The more boos Barry gets the more potent his bat becomes and the jeerers actually become his homerun fuel.
The villains helped the captain regroup,refocus, and rebound in order to lose over 3 pounds this week and say no to the real life rogue of fries with dinner! Fuel for the weight loss machine? Always!! Better luck next guys. Maybe there is an old lady crossing the street you can trip. Keep being mean, but never lean. maybe someday you can moe out of your parents basement.

225.6 1 pound higher

Sometimes the scales do not match your feelings. I really felt I was going to weigh 222 or 223, but facts are a funny thing sometimes. I guess it is better luck next time for me and if I am not careful the villains will run the score up.
I think my problem is that I have been eating to many tomatoes. Sometimes over 10 a day and I need to be more dilligent in my calorie counting. Looking to the weight loss winners will be my inspiration this week. Good job for everyone who discarded bodyfat this week.

Overconfidence blindsided the Captain this week. A gain of 1 pound puts the poundage at 225.6. Not to cool Jeff Rhodes. Al Jolson's standing on top of the world was demolished by,"The Top" who countered the silver age flash's powers. I need to be careful and not to replace glutony with pride. Stay humble and stay focussed. It looks like the villains won this week. Good job guys!!! Back to the Batcave. Alfred, What's for dinner?

Standing on top of the world

The Captain hit 224.6. Al Jolson was right,"I am standing on top of the world" It wasn't always this way, but it is now. Never going Back. Never never never!!!
Thanks for all the positive comments and big time props to Cactus for losing 4 lbs. and Half the Man losing a "Whopper" of 5 lbs. Good job. Thanks to the guy impersonating me. You really gave some me some motivation.

The Captain stuck at 226.4

Although I lost .4 pounds I wasn't able to crack into 225 land. The 5's and 0's have always been milestone for me, and it would have represented 70 percent of my final fifty objectives. It makes me feel like a real punk/piker for failing to hit this goal. If I had just not eaten that Turkey club with french fries on the road last night I would have hit this homerun. Instead I struck out. I am adopting Spidey's motto,"Lose weight Now", but right now the Rogues can tell me "Better luck next time chump"
Villains 7,Captain 0 I think the trolls will score a few more touchdowns if I keep neglecting to focus on my mission I will definately throw an interception and have a regain. Thanks for all the encouragement both positive and negative and I will definately put an update tommorrow morning with my new poundage. "Lose weight Now" has nice ring to it.

Villain Voice issue 4: The Evil Twin

Well it has an event filled couple of days with the Captain being impersonated by an evil twin posting both on my blogs and the blogs that I frequent. He/She gets an A for effort and is the featured Villain of the week. Unfortunately, I failed to hit my goal and the evil Captain kicked my ass. Good job!!!

Although once he did team up with the flash to defeat Colonel computron. I do have thank the villains for motivating me to lose one more pound and get down to 228. They helped me defeat the reallife villain Colonel Sanders.

Weigh in Tommorrow and why we need protection

I am going to post my weight tomorrow. Hopefully I can break through the 230's and hit 229. I feel like I am going to do it. We will see.

Well, I hit 229.4 This matches my 1995 low when I was on a diet which started at a high of270. The funny thing about that 95 weigh in was that I really thought that I had arrived. The next 30 pounds would be a snap.
I noticed myself becoming a drive through junkie and reinstating bad habits again. While interestingly enough I initially maintained a weight around 229-235 for a few months before I headed south and ran to the border. Plateau's work both ways. You can gorge and gorge and gorge and not really pack on any weight, for awhile, and then all of a sudden you jump 10 pounds and the cycle continues itself. I think if I can share something for anyone stuck at a weight for a few weeks is to remember that this stickiness is there for our "protection". It prevents us from both starving to death or weighing 500 pounds. The virtue of patience is the primary key to weight loss success. Enough rambling. I am going to weigh in on Tuesday morning and I hope your weekend was great.

The Captain down to 231

The Captain came down with a gum infection, went to the doctor, and had to get on antibiotics. I literally could not drink more than a few protein shakes a day without intense pain, and I was taking 8 alleves a day. It really was a miserable couple of days.
I also worked in the fields 11 hours a day stringing tomatoes and pounding heavy stakes into the ground. A sort of "perfect storm" of marathnon physical work,extreme pain, and a forced atkins diet. My jaw finally felt better this morning and I am now only taking 2 alleves. However, I am taking myself out of this weeks weight loss challenge. This is simply due to the fact that a swollen jaw gaves me an unfair advantage, but interestingly enough I would not wish this advantage on anyone. Any takers? My goal next week is to stay at 231 and not regain a loss due to sickness. This can be easy to do. Thanks again Spider for the great plug on your last post, and fantastic job half the man for losing almost 4 pounds.

The Captain's log of 7 favorite albums

I thought this was going to be an easy task when Spider tagged me to compile a list of my 7 favorite albums. The difficulty was narrowing it down to my favorite 6. I now tag Half the Man,Don Q , Dawn, twicetheman and Gynipher

1. Van Halen 1984 still brings back memories of my first kiss over 23 years ago on a bus going home from Magic Mountain. David Lee Roth was at his pinacle, and Eddie was Eddie. Enough said. I think it is the one album that defines the eighties heavy metal scene. Maybe this group was what the movie Rockstar was based on. If it wasn't it should have been.

2. Lionel Richie's Dancing on the Ceiling was a masterpiece. I guess I loved it so much because I bought my freshman year of college. I remember listening the title hit while driving to one of my first college parties. Little did I know that going to that gathering would lead me to spend an extra year in college making up for all "my dancing on the ceilings"

3. Open Up and Say...Ahh by poison. Poison was one of the eighties best Glam Heavy metal bands. Nothing but a good time and every rose has its thorn were the two bests songs on this album.

4, Wilson Phillips, the album with the groups name. was a changing of the guard from the eighties to the nineties. Hold on and Release me were songs I remember well when I lived near New York. I think it was the only great album they produced. I am happy Ms. Wilson finally got control of her weight.

5. Tails, by Lisa Loeb, was one of the those albums that was worth buying for the strength of this one song. Although she is not a one hit wonder, Stay(I miss you) is a song that will be played for many decades and many will always be indentify it as her only top charter. To this day it really a song I cannot fully get out of my mind.

6. The way it is by Bruce Hornsby and the Range is one of the few lp albums that I saved. The way it is and mandolin rain are songs that bring my first year in college back crystal clear. I was more idealistic and less cynical back then. I wish I could return to that life perspective. It is something that I am working on

7. OU812 by Van Halen is an album that I loved because they tried to break their own mold. Eddie on keyboards. It was really bold. When its Love and Cabo Wabo were the two best songs. I am one of the few fans that loved Van Halen and Van Hagar. One of the biggest regrets I have is missing David Lee Roth touring with Sammy Hagar a few years back. Thanks Spider for making me dig deep

When I was in my early twenties I use to listen to Jerry Falwell's old time Gospel hour. Its been over 15 years since I watched the show. However, I always remembered a comment that he made that impacted my life in a deep long lasting way.
